About Christenesen & Ebert
Insurance and Bookkeeping Services With a Personal Touch
Christensen and Ebert Insurance and Financial Services was started by Kim Christensen and Candace Ebert. Candace had worked for years with Kim’s husband at Canepa Design in Scotts Valley. At one point when Kim had decided to make a change and leave a local State Farm office as a representative, she too was hired to work at Canepa Design. It was there that they realized that not only the two of them could work together really well, but they also formed a lasting friendship. After a stint at Canepa Design Kim decided she wanted to return to the insurance industry, and left to work for a local Farmers Insurance Agency in Santa Cruz.
As time progressed and Candace’s family grew it became evident that she would not be able to meet the demands of her job and her young family. After some time off, Candace went to work for the same Farmer’s agent Kim was working for.
Once working together again the two decided it was time to combine their experience and knowledge and start their own business. They decided that they would combine a traditional insurance agency with a full service bookkeeping service and financial services advisement. This would not only capitalize on both of their experience but it also would assist the client in having such a wide range of services all under one roof.

Kim Christensen has over 15 years experience in the insurance industry. Working in Claims, Underwriting, and Brokerage firms, she brings a broad knowledge base to help you in all of your insurance needs. She respects and understands the needs of the family and business owner, with the ability to look outside the box.
Born and raised in Santa Cruz County, she shares a home with her husband of 17 years, and her two children.
Her introduction to insurance was working with Nonprofits Insurance Alliance of California located in Santa Cruz. She started with them adjusting claims for the California Nonprofits they insured. After several years she was offered the opportunity to move to underwriting, which she found a welcome challenge. She spent the next 3 years working as an underwriter for their California market.
When her daughter was born she took some time off to work from home and get additional training and licensing in the insurance industry. When she returned to the workforce, she went to work for State Farm as a health specialist/office representative for a local agent. This was her first experience working directly with the public in the insurance field, but she found it to be fulfilling. She took that opportunity to educate her clients and provide them peace of mind, knowing they were insured appropriately. After doing some research in the industry, she made a connection with Farmers Insurance. This move has been like coming home, and she is thrilled with the opportunity to move forward in her own agency. Being in several areas of insurance, she knows the importance of properly insuring your home and business and would like to share with you that same peace of mind.
